Board of Directors

Javer's Board of Directors is comprised of eleven members, who are appointed by the shareholders and are entrusted with the management of the Company's business.

The Company's Board of Directors must meet at least once every quarter of the year on the dates set by the Board of Directors or its Chairman. The meeting may be called by the Chairman of the Board, by at least two members of the Board or by the Secretary of the Board. Also, the extraordinary meetings may be held as deemed necessary by the Chairman and its members.

Currently, the Board of Directors is composed as follows:

  • Salomon Marcuschamer Stavchansky - Chairman of the Board and director

    Appointed December 22, 2009, Age: 80, Gender: Male.

    Mr. Marcuschamer indirectly holds 24.31% of the Company's stock through Proyectos del Noreste, S.A. de C.V. He founded the Company 50 years ago and has been involved in the housing industry ever since. He is an active member of the National Chamber of the Housing Development and Promotion Industry (Cámara Nacional de la Industria de Desarrollo y Promoción de Vivienda, or CANADEVI by its Spanish acronym) and the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (Cámara Mexicana de la Industria de la Construcción, or CMIC).He has other personal ventures, such as Pabellón M, Pabellón M Auditorium and Desarrollos Industriales Nexxus, S.A. de C.V.

  • Samuel Klein Marcuschamer - Board member

    Appointed January 24, 2018, Age: 39, Gender: Male.

    He holds a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa (IPADE). He joined Javer in 2006 and was appointed Director of Planning and Acquisitions of Territorial Reserves in 2012. He currently serves as CEO of Inmobiliarias IDN and Torre M, highlighting from the latter its main project "Pabellón M", located in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. In addition, Mr. Klein is a board member and advisor of CANADEVI, as well as vice president of CAPROBI (Chamber of Real Estate Owners of N.L.).

  • Joe Ackerman Braun - Board member

    Appointed December 22, 2009, Age: 52, Gender: Male.

    Co-founder and principal of Pensam Capital, an alternative investment and asset management firm focused on commercial and residential real estate throughout the United States. Since 2009, Pensam has invested over US$3.5 billion in 35,000 multifamily units across the US. Mr. Ackerman also serves as a director of Inmobiliaria Torre M, a mixed-use project, and Desarrollos Industriales Nexxus, S.A. de C.V., focused on industrial parks in Nuevo Leon. Mr. Ackerman holds a B.B.A. in Finance from Bentley University.

  • Cesar Perez Barnes - Board member

    Appointed December 22, 2009, Age: 55, Gender: Male.

    Cesar Perez Barnes is an independent investor, advisor and director with 30 years of professional experience in Mexico, Latin America, Europe and the USA. He has been an appointed director of Southern Cross Group since 2009. Until 2022, he was a partner and director of Southern Cross Group Mexico. Previously, he worked at Advent International, Netjuice Capital and McKinsey &Co. In 2002, he was the first general director of Endeavor Mexico, an international NGO that promotes high-impact entrepreneurship, where he initiated operations in Mexico. He holds a degree in chemical engineering from UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México) and a master's degree in engineering and an MBA, both from MIT. He is currently a member of the executive committee of the board of trustees of the Faculty of Chemistry at UNAM, and is part of YPO (Mexico City chapter).

  • Marcos Alfredo Mulcahy - Board member

    Appointed April 27, 2017, Age: 47, Gender: Male.

    Marcos Mulcahy is a partner of Southern Cross Group, one of the leading private equity firms in Latin America, with over $3.3 billion pesos in capital raised. Marcos has over 20 years of professional experience in operations, M&A and private equity investments. He was involved in the execution and is currently a member of the Board of Javer and four of Southern Cross' portfolio companies: Axity, a leading IT services company with presence in Mexico, Colombia and Chile; Even Group, an integrated telecommunications infrastructure developer; BBT, an internet service provider in Argentina; Esmax Real Estate, the real estate division of one of the leading fuel distribution companies in Chile. Prior to joining Southern Cross in 2008, Marcos was CEO of Ecnex International, a technology services company that became the largest provider of broadband services to the hospitality sector in Latin America. Prior to that, Marcos worked at BAM&A, a boutique investment banking firm in Argentina; and Perez Companc, a leading Argentine energy conglomerate. Marcos holds a degree in Economics from Universidad Católica Argentina.

  • Sebastian Agustin Villa - Board member

    Appointed January 20, 2021, Age: 50, Gender: Male.

    Sebastian Villa joined Southern Cross Group in 1999. He is a member of the firm's Executive Committee and has served as a board member of hotelDO, MMCinemas, Planigrupo, Javer, MorePharma, the Port of Barranquilla, Ultrapetrol, Solaris, Brinox and Topico. Prior to joining Southern Cross, Mr. Villa worked at Three Cities Private Equity, Boston Consulting Group and Royal Dutch Shell. He holds a BA in Economics from Universidad de San Andres and an MBA from Columbia University.

  • Alfredo Castellanos Heuer - Board member

    Appointed December 22, 2009, Age: 53, Gender: Male.

    Alfredo is Managing Partner of Glisco Partners with more than 20 years of experience in Private Equity in Mexico and Latin America. He joined Protego in 2003 and was part of the private equity business since the launch of Fund I. In 2015 he led the management buyout of Evercore Mexico Capital Partners, which allowed the creation of Glisco Partners. Currently, he is involved in all of Glisco's portfolio companies: Javer, Diavaz DEP, Grupo Hunan, Dimex, Grupo Arca, Mezcal Amarás, ZeBrands, Siete Leagues Automotive, UltraOrganics, Yalo and Kueski.

    Previously, he founded Actimart, a digital B2B company focused on LatAm. He has extensive experience in PE in Latin America (Banc of America Equity Partners), M&A (BT Wolfensohn) and strategic consulting (McKinsey). He is a former member of the Board of Directors of LAVCA and AMEXCAP. Alfredo holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from ITAM.

  • Sebastian Odriozola Canales - Board member

    Appointed December 22, 2009, Age: 50, Gender: Male.

    He has more than 25 years of experience in business management and equity investments. He is founder and director of Arzentia Capital. Prior to that, he held several positions in Grupo IMSA, including Industrial Sales Manager of IMSA Acero, Director of Strategic Planning of Stabilit and General Director of United Panel. Prior to joining IMSA, he was Business Development Manager at Seminis Inc. He holds a degree in Biochemical Engineering from ITESM and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton Business School. He is a board member and participates in some investment committees of equity funds in Mexico and the United States.

  • Rafael Gomez Eng - Independent board member

    Appointed April 27, 2017, Age: 70, Gender: Male.

    He has more than 35 years of professional practice at KPMG where he was the Northeast Regional Director and National Director of Markets. He chairs the audit committee of Javer, Fibra Inn, Grupo Famsa; and is a member of the audit committees of Grupo Financiero Afirme, Banca y Seguros Afirme. He participates in several of his clients' boards of directors at Growth & Profit Consulting, where he has been the managing partner since 2009. Mr. Gómez is a certified public accountant from the University of Guadalajara, a graduate of IPADE's AD2 Business Program and Wharton KPMG's International Business Program.

  • Victor Manuel Requejo Hernandez - Independent board member

    Appointed March 11, 2013, Age: 86, Gender: Male.

    Recognized for his career in real estate and mortgages. In 1994 he created Hipotecaria Nacional, of which he was a Director, which years later became part of BBVA Bancomer. He has held important corporate positions, such as his time as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banca Hipotecaria Bancomer. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Banco Inmobiliario Mexicano, S.A., of which he was also founder and Chief Executive Officer. He has 60 years of experience in the financial and real estate sector. He holds a Law Degree from UNAM, a Diploma in Business Administration from IPADE, and recently received a Master's Degree in History from Universidad Iberoamericana.

  • Alfonso Gonzalez Migoya - Independent board member

    Appointed August 6, 2010, Age: 79, Gender: Male.

    He has more than 50 years of experience in various companies and has a vast knowledge of financial and business administration. During his professional career he has been a board member of several public companies. He is currently a board member of: FEMSA, Coca-Cola FEMSA, Controladora Vuela Compañía de Aviación (VOLARIS), and Regional, S.A.B de C.V. He holds a degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from ITESM and an MBA from Stanford University.
