Another year celebrating Octubre Urbano!
01 November, 2021 by Javer
With the support of the United Nations (UN) since 2014, throughout October we celebrate “Octubre Urbano”. This initiative promotes reflection and conversation on the challenges faced by cities on the path to sustainability through different activities and events.
Real estate development is a fundamental component of urban growth and, as it involves us first-hand in this initiative, during October we carry out different activities to commemorate it.
Preceded by the seventh tree planting of the year that took place in our Torre Luna project in the state of Nuevo León, the celebration of Octubre Urbano was inaugurated at the "World Habitat Day" conference by the social responsibility team. Throughout the month, some of our staff members in Jalisco, Nuevo León, State of Mexico, and Quintana Roo, as well as the neighbors of our projects of Valle de Lincoln and Valle de Santa Isabel in Nuevo León, adopted a tree to plant in their homes and nearby parks.
We also carried out recoveries of community spaces by painting crosswalks in several of our projects. The celebration culminated with the World Cities Day conference, given by Professor Nélida Escobedo Ruiz, Coordinator of the Northern Region of the Cities Lab C+LAB of Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education. Although October is over, at JAVER we are not holding back our efforts to live in more sustainable environments.
