Collect, reuse bottle caps, and support treatments

Javer and SIMEX, we support the treatment of children with cancer through actions such as reusing materials.
In 2020, we held the My Best Corporate Social Responsibility Practice contest aimed at suppliers to promote and support the development and maturation of practices focused on Corporate Social Responsibility in the areas of governance, internal well-being, the environment, and the community.
It was the bottle cap collection initiative from the supplier SIMEX that won and we continue to be committed to promoting it year after year.
An innovative and effective way to address this responsibility is through the reuse of plastic caps. For SIMEX, this small gesture can have a significant impact on the environment and local communities, while promoting a culture of social responsibility.
Plastic caps, commonly used on beverage bottles and containers, are small but abundant. Their size makes them difficult to recycle in conventional waste management systems, often resulting in them ending up in landfills or, worse, in the ocean. The durability of plastic means they can persist in the environment for centuries, causing environmental damage and threatening marine life.
This project generates a triple impact as we recycle plastic, SIMEX decides to reuse the material to create supports and separators that are placed under Javer homes, and we support the treatment of children with cancer.
In 2021, we placed 4 containers in the state of Nuevo León and collected more than 290 kg of caps. In 2022, we placed 4 more containers in the State of Mexico and collected more than 470 kg of caps. Now, in 2023, we have the initiative to place more containers and continue to include more states in this cause.
