After almost three years halted by the pandemic, we carried out our first environmental volunteer program with our staff members. It is important to mention that without any on-site volunteering, we carried out more than 15 events of our “Planting trees in our communities" program (Arborizando nuestras Comunidades) thanks to the participation of our gardening team.

On June 10 of this year, the first volunteer event was held among staff members and residents of Jardines de Magnolias 3, a project located in Zumpango, State of Mexico. 30 trees were planted in an area of approximately 1,000 m2. As of the date of planting, they store more than 40 kg of CO2 and benefit more than 4,000 residents. At the closure of this event, we granted tree adoption certificates to more than 10 families and delivered 36 organic pots to grow mint, basil, and oregano, aromatic plants that attract pollinators.

The enthusiasm to continue planting trees did not let more than a day pass, so on June 11 we carried out another tree planting at the Valle de los Lirios project, located in Zumpango, State of Mexico. It is worth mentioning that 60 trees were planted in 30 minutes, a new record time for our team. The 60 trees planted were distributed in an area of approximately 2,000 m2 and at the date of planting they store more than 80 kg of CO2, benefiting more than 2,000 residents.

Commitment

Through our "Arborizando nuestras Comunidades” program, we have planted more than 1,900 trees in addition to our green areas. We expect that by 2022 we will planted more than 2,000 trees. In Javer, we will strive to continue increasing the tree density of our projects and the quality of the environment for our neighbors.
