This is how the inauguration of the first Javer nursery in Jalisco was experienced

On June 23rd, the inauguration of our first Javer nursery in Jalisco took place, marking the fifth nationwide. These nurseries constitute one of the 12 environmental programs within our company. They also support 4 additional programs: Flora and Fauna Rescue, Native Plant and Tree Germination, Tune My Garden, and Urban Orchards. In addition to serving as centers for environmental learning and community strengthening, they are pivotal for the cultivation of plants and trees that compose urban ecosystems in our projects.
The primary objective of our nurseries is to reproduce and care for native forest and ornamental species from the region, aimed at soil restoration and biodiversity preservation. In this specific nursery, we have successfully germinated over 500 trees, amassing more than 7,000 germinated trees and plants in the program, all of which are native and/or resilient species adapted to the environmental conditions of our developments.
We project that within its first year, this nursery will yield more than 1,000 plants, thanks to the participation of attendees at the inauguration, who planted 100 seeds of native trees. Furthermore, we have established a pollinator garden that will provide a safe haven for vital native species in the ecosystem.
Within the nursery, 2 cultivation beds have been set up for urban orchard workshops. During the event, participants planted 8 cantaloupe seedlings and sowed 10 corn seeds in one of the beds. We are confident that this initiative will be successful, serving as a learning space for food sovereignty, sustainability, future tree donation projects in exchange for recyclable material, as well as the collection of organic waste from neighbors to generate compost.
The benefits of this nursery will be reflected in the environmental culture of the community and the increase of trees in green areas. We believe that through this action, the restoration of the urban ecosystem and its native fauna will be achieved.
